autumn daybreak
the silence
of the old oars

no movement
on the clear sky
in a small church
the priest reads psalms
for few white butterflies

updrafts
the intermingling
of shade and shadow

setting in the trees
and in birds that have flown away
it resides in me—
the void of afternoon
just a sad rustle

in the stillness
a few grackles fly in
running the palms

wind chimes
contemplating
clinging moment

first day of summer
even the sky
marks the moment
