loud rustling—
in the cold wind the call
of a distant home
from satellite photos,
holes instead of trees

prairie heatwave
a kestrel’s wing fans
the grass

daybreak—
the murder of crows
takes flight

on my first flight
i wished i could
touch the clouds
peering through the window…
flight of fancy
