George Skane is from Georgetown, Massachusetts. He taught social studies and humanity courses at Winthrop High School, for fifty years and is now retired. He was introduced to haiku, senryu, and haiga by his brother Richard, and his interest was piqued by his love for mountaineering. He is a member of the Haiku Society of America.
